Teeth Whitening

There are many products and techniques available for patients who want to achieve a brighter smile, and with so many options available, it can be difficult to choose the method that is right for you. Please let us know that you're interested in whitening and we can discuss your options.

Custom Whitening Trays

To fabricate custom whitening trays for you, we take impressions of your upper and lower teeth.  You will return to our office in approximately one week to pick up the trays and learn how to apply the gel.

We offer whitening gel strengths that allow you to bleach your teeth for 30 minutes per day or overnight, whichever best fits in your schedule.  The number of days you spend whitening depends on how stained your teeth are and your goals.

If you have very stained teeth or want to get your teeth as white as possible, your best option is custom trays.

Stock Whitening Trays

Stock whitening trays are similar to the whitening strips that are available over the counter.  The whitening agent is applied by placing the tray across your teeth and gently pressing to ensure contact with all your teeth and removing the carrier tray. These trays are typically worn for 15 minutes per day.  Our office sells kits with either 4 or 10 sets of trays.

Whitening Toothpaste and Mouthwash

The least expensive options are whitening toothpastes and mouthwashes. Designed to have “whitening” capabilities, toothpastes and mouthwashes work to remove surface stains using mild abrasives. However, unlike the materials used in professional whitening procedures, these products do not lighten the actual color shade of the tooth. Whitening toothpastes affect surface stains and will mildly lighten your teeth.
